Papers [manuscript]. 1908-1971.

The papers include literary manuscripts, notebooks, autobiographical notes, newspaper reviews and leaders by Slessor, reviews by others of his work, photographs, and an extensive collection of correspondence. The correspondents include R.D. FitzGerald, Dame Mary Gilmore, H.M. Green, Sir Paul Hasluck, Christopher Koch, Norman Lindsay, Hugh McCrae, David Rowbotham, Douglas Stewart, and numerous other Australian writers. There are also manuscripts of 28 poems by other poets, including W. Hart-Smith, Jack Lindsay, Phil Lindsay, Kenneth Mackenzie, McCrae and Rowbotham. Commonwealth Literary Fund and National Literary Board of Review files are also included. One bound copy, inscribed to Sleesor and illustrated inside front and back covers by the author, entitled "The Ballad of Bloodthirsty Bessie and other Poems" by Ronald McCuaig, Sydney: Angus and Robertson, 1961.
